Bodoh! Bodoh! Bodoh!

Someone from DAP HQ recorded this from the TV screen in the Parliament Opposition Leader's office, and there are more where this came from. Since the Malaysian government refuses to broadcast live from Parliament, this is the next best thing. There's a good reason why the government won't allow live broadcasts... Malaysians will see how BN MPs behave (esp the ones who are always speaking up but wait till you hear the s*** that comes out of their mouths, like Sri Gading, Jerai and Kinabatangan). This is not the initial intention of my blog - which is about me taking photos - but I feel I have a moral responsibility to circulate these videos to wake Malaysians up from their Kraken-like slumber. Please disseminate. I will be posting more of these videos now and again.

Here are some examples of sexual discrimination incidents in Parliament.

For the "Bocor" incidents, check them out here and here.

Hot Pot

I was quite excited at seeing this live volcano releasing hot ash when we flew into Bali a coupla years ago... at least I think it was in Bali! My memory fails me. Age is catching up.

Not very green at all

We flew over Greenland on the way to New York in 2003 for Erik's sister Eva's wedding.

Gorgeous

Absolutely breathtaking is the scenery one encounters while trekking in Nepal.

Scrumptious

The Grilled Ham & Cheese Sandwich at Strudels is heavenly and probably really fattening... but, who cares??? Not me, for sure.

Delicioso!

OK, the Roast Chicken link that I posted a few days ago didn't work. So I took that entry out. For some reason, my upload failed so am replacing it with this clip of Sharon demonstrating the art of eating a spring roll in Hanoi... yummmm.

Beautiful Mornings

During our time in Ghandruk (6500 feet), this was our awesome breakfast view every morning: Annapurna South (seen here; 23,683 feet), Hiunchuli (21,133 feet) and Machupuchare aka Fishtail (22,943 feet).

* This was taken by Erik or one of the Gurung girls (who were running riot with my camera snapping each other, their dog, flowers, etc).

Hairy Situation

The other two of Kisam's kids (see previous post) decided they were gonna give me a makeover of sorts... and voila, I became Princess Leia!

* Erik took these pictures of us.

Cutie Pie

Isn't she lovely?

She's one of Kisam Gurung's three daughters, he's the proprietor of Gurung Cottage in Ghandruk, Nepal. We stayed with them for three nights in October last year. It was an incredibly friendly and cosy place, and of course the scenery was stunning. More photos to come... I have some video clips but have not yet figured out how to incorporate video in this blog. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction?

Here's a link to a short video clip of Ghandruk on the Nat Geo site.

I like!

I bought this cool painting by this young artist by the name of Le Huong. He is incredibly talented and does a lot of reproductions. I was really taken by the quirkiness and bright happy colours.

If you are ever in Hanoi, do drop by his gallery at 93 Ma May, in the Old Quarter.

P/S. Now obviously I didn't take this picture myself... :)

Creme de la creme

The lemon-infused creme caramel at Bobby Chinn's in Hanoi was DIVINE.

Auckland-born Bobby Chinn is the son of an Egyptian aristocrat (mother) and an American Chinese (father). His Shanghai-born father moved to America post-WWII and Chinn was raised in San Francisco.

His World Cafe Asia TV series is currently showing on Discovery Travel and Living.
